Having written my Halloween supernatural story, I'd been quite delighted with the feedback I had received from those I shared my Christmas story with, Every person gave me good feedback on my take on Rudolph.
Shortly before cooking Dad's tea, the phone rang.
“Can I speak to Neil Kendrick?”
“Speaking,” I'd replied.
It seems my dentist is self-isolating, damn annoying.
I was last seen in November, but it seems the next appointment I could be offered was in the first week of February.
And gawd is it cold; and I'm so thankful for my favourite soft-feeling grey sweater received as a present a year or so ago, from a good friend.
Talking of presents, up until recently, one of my favourite presents had been my Eeyore, which sits near my bedroom door and stares at me, from behind my wardrobe.
And then, just after Christmas a present arrived for me, a TARDIS. It had been 3d printed for me and hand-painted were neccesary. I'd been stoked with the gift.
Gifts? I gave one to myself at 5:30 a.m one morning having an appetite, for the first time in many years; yet having such I chose to take advantage of it and made myself and egg toast sandwich, which I'd eaten with relish.
Speaking of such things, no matter what I cook, toasted cheese is still my Dad's favourite meal; grill one side, turn and place your sliced tomatoes on, then the sliced cheese on top and grill.
I've just discovered lentil & pea veggie cakes, spinach & pesto flavoured. I eat them with cream-cheese and either saurkraut or cheee & onion mayonaise based spread. That spread had surprised me, as I don't like mayonaise, but I've grown to like and appreciate it with those veggie-cakes. So yeah, they're to be recommended.
As I sit and write tonight I listen to the wind and rain outside, as I hope it won't be a Full Moon tonight, as the last one gave me the worst nights sleep I've had for awhile – intermittant and overly thoughtful.
Then when I woke I saw the Full Moon move slowlt through my bedroom window, feeling cold as cold coould be. When the radiator kicked in, I'd slept...
Talking of the cold, Dad keeps saying; “I don't like Billy Winter.”
He says that a lot, often as he wrings his hands before the gas fire.
Personally, it's my left knee that's giving me grief through the cold. It's not every day it gives me grief; but I have developed a pronounced limp of late.
It's irritating, that's all.
Ah yes, irritation --- not only have HP still been taking money from me for the last tenth month; not only have they mixed up my account with a woman; they cancelled my account, which was in probability why the wirelss inks would not work with machine...
The dry spell finally ended on Tuesday, with it pouring down hard, all evening and, into the night.
And then, after mme saying, 'email, don't phone agai', HP phoned again. We can make a refund Mr. Neil, but I need the last four numbers on your card.'
I'd felt like screaming and, somehhow did not raise my voice, although I'd felt genuinely annoyed: “I said, I want a continuation, or ...”
And so, an appointment had been made for Friday for the young man would phone then, as I'd 'had enough'.
I'm not looking forward to Friday then and, Tuesday next week: I'll finally going to see the dentist, after his spell of isolation. Knowing what to roughly expect, I'm feeling kinda wary...
